Despite being fairly simplistic, it can help you coordinate all the details of your work. WorkFlowy is perfect for creating all kinds of lists, comprising project tasks, notes you took during a meeting or a conference, journal entries, or shopping lists, chores, or anything else you can think of. Browsing the Favorites is easier than looking for an item in a large list. In case your lists start getting overcrowded at some point, you can use the star symbol to add individual lists (pages in WorkFlowy) to a Favorites section. ![]() The integrated search uses tags to find list entries much easier and faster. On the other hand, Workflowy is detailed as ' A web-based app to stay organized '. Org mode is for keeping notes, maintaining TODO lists, planning projects, and authoring documents with a fast and effective plain-text system. The notes and lists in WorkFlowy support tagging, which can be set in place using the well-known hashtag or symbols. Developers describe Org Mode as ' Org: an Emacs Mode for Notes, Planning, and Authoring '. ![]() Word tagging, built-in search, and favorites support Moreover, WorkFlowy enables you to export lists locally. Tasks and items can be marked as completed, and lists can be shared with others either using an automatically generated link or via email. To add a new item to the list, you just have to hit "Enter", while indenting is done using the tab key. Zooming in on any of the lists enables you to fill them out with various items, without limitation on the depth of the created hierarchy. WorkFlowy displays a simple bullet on its blank page, allowing you to create new lists with ease. While usage should not pose difficulties, there are getting started videos that can be played from within the application to help you understand how everything works. Once logged in, you will be greeted by an overly simple interface, most of it being occupied by the note editor. Create lists and sublists, and share them with others The first thing you need to know is that WorkFlowy stores information in the cloud, allowing you to synchronize your notes across multiple platforms by using a dedicated client and a personal user account. While it can be used as a personal organizer, WorkFlowy is also suitable for research sessions, giving you a helping hand in managing all the information you come across. ![]() That is the reason why a note-taking tool, such as WorkFlowy, can come in handy for writing down details about upcoming events and pending tasks. Simple adjustments to help you track what has changed.įor real-time editing and document collaboration, you can indeed copy paste a google docs / zoho / office 365 link anywhere.A busy life or a messy work style can result in low productivity and missed deadlines. – make a simple UI for the current hidden operator “last-changed” – set up a special “search” view allowing you to sort the bullet point in the current tree based on their last edition date (again, information already available in workflowy) (workflowy already save the “last-edited” date for each bullet). You could even color-code them depending on which users edited them last. – when you view a collaborative tree, show the bulletpoints that have been edited since your last connexion in a different color. Maybe not a full history, but for instance two simple things that would fit well with the current simplicity and UI design of workflowy : Features that would be valuable to “normal users” too. Nobody is going to use workflowy as a text editor or google docs replacement but if you want to use it as a collaborative brainstorming tool, light todo list or team note taking thing, it definitely lacks features. It kinda works for a couple preparing a shopping list, and even in this case it remains quite basic but if you want to sell that to a team, even a small team, it feels hacky to hover your mouse on the bulletpoints to see what was modified when, or to input manually your name on bulletpoints that you changed. ![]() My point was, it is currently really hard to collaborate over a common workflowy tree. You’re right, there is no point in turning workflowy into Google Docs or Microsoft Office 365. I mentioned google docs as a reference, but I didn’t have in mind anything as sophisticated as what they’re doing at google (real time editing, full text layout etc…). Hi workflowy: I am so fond of your application I wonder may you develop a function named bi-directional link, just like roam research.Users use' 'to link a bullet to another one.
